2 Keys to Success

Hello!

I don't have too much time, but I just wanted to write about my run on Friday.

So school has started and it has kind of been a race for me to get back in a schedule and figure out everything. Finally on Friday though I was able to run after Inspiration Choir. On Wednesday I had brought my clothes to run after Choir, but my will power was lacking so I went home and took a nap instead. On Friday though I wore my running clothes to Choir that way I had less of an excuse not to run. I was trying to decide if I wanted to run in the freezing cold or just go home. In passing I just asked my Choir instructor Brother Ellsworth if I should run or not. He, of course, encouraged me to run. He told me about his bike ride that was kind of a disaster, but he rode anyway and how good he felt so he said that I should go run. So I ran.

As I was running I was thinking about my short exchange with Brother Ellsworth. Over that last semester I have come to know him a little better through all of our activities and performances. He is a special man with many talents and gifts. He blesses the lives of those who are in our choir and is a positive influence for many people. Thinking about positive influences it occurred to me that in my quest to always stay healthy it is vital to keep positive, encouraging influences around me, who will urge and support me to make healthier choices.

Exercising is easier to do with a partner. Being accountable to someone for your exercise habits makes it a lot easier to get out there and move. After my run on Friday I decided that I need a schedule. A work out schedule. I took an exercise class up at BYU-Idaho that taught me how to make an exercise schedule. Thankfully, I have been blessed with an amazing work out buddy and we are going to get our bums back in shape! I will let you know how it goes!

So remember these two important things in your quest to healthiness:

1. Surround yourself with positive influences and positive work out partners. (If you feel like there is no one, just open your mouth and start talking to people about your desire to exercise and eventually you will find someone who has the same desire as you! :)

2. Make a schedule. Preparation before anything is key to success!
