Happy Holidays!
Winter.
How grateful I am to belong to a church that encourages us to take care of ourselves, that values health, and teaches the truth about our bodies. How grateful I am for modern revelation and modern research.
So here's to the holidays and here's to trying to control my diet and exercise for the next 4 months.
Winter is the ripe time of laziness and treats. Who decided that it was a good idea to make all the holidays during the months where exercising is the least convenient?
This morning I was getting ready, picking out something to wear that would be comfortable and hide the fact that I haven't exercised in too long. The thought came to complain to myself about myself and my winter habits. Sitting on top of my dresser were some quotes and specific scriptures that I like. The very top one was a quote from Russell M. Nelson:
"We will regard our bodies as a temple of our very own. We will not let it be desecrated or defaced in an way. We will control our diet and exercise for our physical fitness."Isn't that great? This was exactly what I needed this morning to motivate me to exercise and keep in check the way I am treating my very own temple.
