My Way; Your Way

Today was the day that I woke up and really really didn't want to exercise. I slept in until 9:30, but didn't get out of bed until 10:00. It is cold outside and the inversion is pretty bad today, but I made myself do it anyway. What a blessing.

Last week Mckay and I went to the temple with my sister Adell. It was wonderful! While we were driving away Mckay noticed that you could see all the way through the temple windows. My sister told us that there is an assembly room in there. As I was running past the temple I thought about that and wondered why the Lord wanted an assembly room in the temples. I thought about the sacred things we are taught about in the temple and wondered about some of the meanings.

A verse came to my head, Isaiah 55:8-9.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
For one who battles their own thoughts this brought so much peace to my heart. That even though I battle with negativity the Lord doesn't join in on my negativity. His thoughts are not my thoughts. They are higher than mine.

Oh what a sweet truth that we have a God in Heaven. A Father who loves us and even when we don't always feel him he is there. Always. What a blessing that God does not pattern the world, but that he is constant in truth and holiness. I'm so thankful that his ways are not my ways, but that they are higher. I'm so grateful that I can attend the temple and be filled with the truth and learn more of his ways and his thoughts. The Gospel is true and I love it!
